Joe Lopez for Sheriff

I am Joe Lopez and I am seeking to become your next Orange County Sheriff.

 

For far too long, our communities have been ignored, betrayed, and passed over.

 

Growing up in the Bronx as a young altar boy, to becoming a Florida State Trooper for 32 years, I was assigned to the Violent Street Crimes Task Force on the streets of Miami and the Robbery Intervention Detail Task Force.

 

Not only were we targeting those that were preying on our community, but I would walk the courtyards of the low-income housing, and I would take the time to talk to the black youth about drugs and guns.

 

I would Share with them my story growing up on the streets of the Bronx, infested with gangs and drugs.  My goal was to change at least one mind. Because it always begins with our youth.

 

I promise you this, I will continue to fight to encourage our community’s voice to be heard louder.

 

I will fight to protect our community from the drug wars fueling the violence and addiction in our homes and schools.

 

I will work proactively with The Orange County Mayor in establishing a better response to the increasing mental health crises by partnering up with qualified mental health professionals.

 

I promise that my administration will seek to have additional law enforcement officers in our neighborhoods.

 

The human trafficking of our most vulnerable citizens must have a proactive plan moving forward and I want us to be a part of the solution.

 

And let's not the forget our women who become victims to domestic Violence, I promise that I will work hard partnering up with the private sector and other community groups to develop programs in preventing Domestic Violence

 

My campaign is about the continuation of our 2018 campaign, which was less than one year ago.

 

What we fought for last year still holds true today.  That is why we named this campaign “Integrity Tour 2.0

 

Our campaign for Sheriff is about integrity and accountability to you, the community.

 

I will not mislead the community or media about crime or excessive use of force, I will hold myself accountable as I did as a State Trooper and as a United States Marine.

 

The Establishment has passed the baton from one insider to another and to another.

 

Are we really better off than the last four years?  -  Eight?  -  Or Twelve years?

 

Or are we going to be ignored again. Our communities deserve better.

 

I will not be a TV Sheriff; I will be the People's Sheriff.

 

I promise you, no one will work harder or smarter or, with more integrity and compassion for the community, while earning YOUR trust.

 

I spent a lifetime of service to our community, and I want to continue as your next Orange County Sheriff.
